Board Member V of the State Audit Institution (BPK) Prof. Dr. Bahrullah Akbar, CSFA as the General Chairman of the National Executive Board (DPN) of the State Financial Audit Institute (IPKN) officially inaugurated IPKN Administrators for Jambi, South Sumatra, Bengkulu, Lampung, and Bangka Belitung Islands which was carried out in an activity “Inauguration of the IPKN Administrators for Southern Region of Sumatra (Sumbagsel) for the 2020-2023 period virtually ”, Thursday, October 8 2020.
The inauguration of the Regional IPKN Administrators was based on Law no. 15 of 2006 concerning BPK and also the Regulation of the Minister of PAN RB No. 49 of 2018 concerning the Functional Position of Auditors which states that the Functional Position must have a professional organization to ensure the realization of quality standards for the professionalism of the auditor’s position. Therefore, on February 20, 2020, the IPKN professional organization was formed which aims to fulfill all the competence of auditors and improve the quality of state financial audits. IPKN has regional administrators in 34 provinces in Indonesia and to date, 14 IPKN administrators have been formed.
Regional IPKN administrators are the backbone of the IPKN organizati
on. For this reason, it is hoped that regional IPKN administrators will be able to carry out the vision and mission of establishing IPKN, namely forming professional auditors as agents of change in realizing good governance, said the Chairman of the IPKN DPN in his briefing to regional IPKN administrators.
Furthermore, he said that regional IPKN administrators must be able to bridge the various backgrounds of auditors to establish cooperation. Therefore, the IPKN is open to government internal supervisors and other parties in order to equalize perceptions and synergies to promote transparency and better accountability of the state finances management. After being formed in 34 Provinces, it is planned that the IPKN will hold the First National Conference in order to determine the direction of the IPKN’s goals.
The activity that took place virtually was also attended by the Governor of West Sumatra or representing, the Chancellors of the Universities in the South Sumatra region or those representing, all Heads of Provincial BPK Representatives, as well as invitees from the Government Internal Supervisory Apparatus (APIP), Public Accountant Office (KAP) , and the local government.
