VIRTUAL FIELD STUDY FOR PARTICIPANTS OF ADMINISTRATOR LEADERSHIP TRAINING (PKA) BATCH I OF YEAR 2020

Participants of Administrator Leadership Training (PKA) Batch I of Year 2020 conducted virtual field study activities on Monday, August 3, 2020. This year’s field studies were conducted at five locus, namely the Directorate-General of Regional Fiscal Balance and the Directorate General of Treasury at @kemenkeuri, Public Service, Smart Kampung, and the Tourism Office at @banyuwangi_kab.

Having the opportunity to give a speech, the Head of the Organization and Management Bureau of the Ministry of Finance, Dr. Dini Kusumawati, S.E., M.E., said that one of the keys to the success of the Ministry of Finance for its innovation achievements is the role of leaders who are visionary and able to anticipate changes. Leaders must be able to communicate these changes to the subordinates, direct, listen to aspirations, provide solutions and empower the subordinates properly.

The innovative leader, H. Abdullah Azwar Anas, M.Sc., Regent of Banyuwangi Regency, was also present to give a speech. He shared his stories and experiences as a regional leader about making new breakthroughs through innovative programs to ensure service quality and people’s welfare. One of the programs he had initiated is Smart Kampung, which is the development of the Smart City concept, namely the integration of information and communication technology into city-level governance. For this tourism destination innovation, the Banyuwangi Regency Government won first place in competing with 180 countries for local government innovation in the tourism sector in Asia-Pacific, and even received a reward for promotion in Europe.

With this field study, it is hoped that the Administrator Officials in the BPK can develop the ability to identify areas of change and innovation agendas at the field study locus, so as to provide inspiration to develop ideas for change that will be implemented in organizational units.
