BPK PKN BADIKLAT HELD INTERNATIONAL TRAINING AND HIGH LEVEL VISIT FOR STATE AUDIT ORGANIZATION OF LAO PDR

The State Audit Organization of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (SAO Lao PDR) conducted a High-Level Visit (HLV) to BPK RI (10/2/20). The visit was carried out as an implementation of the bilateral cooperation between BPK and SAO Lao PDR in the field of education and training which has been going on since 2015. After the Courtesy Call which was received by BPK Chairman, Dr. Agung Firman Sampurna, CSFA and participating in the Executive Discussion on the Grading System on BPK Auditor with the BPK Deputy Chairperson Dr. Agus Joko Pramono, CSFA, a delegation led by SAO President Lao PDR, Viengthong Siphandone, Ph.D, visited the BPK PKN Training Center in Kalibata, South Jakarta. Also attending the visit was the Ambassador of Lao PDR to Indonesia, Mr. Phomma Sidsena.

Delegates who were present at the PKN Badiklat were welcomed directly by the Head of Badiklat PKN, Hery Subowo, CSFA. The visit of the SAO Lao PDR delegation was divided into 2 teams consisting of 11 High Level Delegations and 8 Training Participants who will take part in international training at the BPK Badiklat PKN. During the visit, SAO Lao PDR High Level Delegations were invited to tour various facilities at the Badiklat PKN including Learning Studio, Library, General and Dental Polyclinic, Auditorium, Moot Court, Fitness Center, and Wisma. On the sidelines of the office tour, the Chairperson of SAO Lao PDR also took the time to try various games in the Audigame Zone and plant trees in order to create a green office at the Badiklat PKN.

Training Participants who take part in the training at Badiklat PKN are the Heads of the Auditor Team at SAO Lao PDR. The theme was “Audit Procedure and Technique for the Team Leader” and was held for 5 days at the Badiklat PKN on 10-14 February 2020. They conducted on-class and off-class learning. This training includes hard skills and soft skills that will equip the Head of the Audit Team to manage the audit team during the assignment. For soft skills, the training covers topics on self-understanding and personal competence, managing stakeholders, and managing audit team members. For hard skills, training is conducted to introduce BPK audit processes and procedures, starting from establishing an audit plan that includes long-term, annual, and individual audit plans, conducting data collection, analysis and documentation, preparing audit reports, and monitoring follow-up actions based on audit recommendations.

The training also highlighted the role of audit team leaders in BPK and the importance of them providing high quality audit results to stakeholders. To provide a better understanding of the implementation of audit techniques, the participants were invited to directly visit the Forensic Audit Laboratory at the BPK Head Office and the Assessment Center Facility belonging to the BPK HR Bureau. By attending this training, participants can understand the audit process at BPK and the role of the team leader in audit assignments, thus encouraging the audit team leader at SAO Lao PDR to produce a higher quality audit process and report.
